Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on Friday (July 26), and Nickelback took to their social media to share a hilarious video defending the movie against haters. The clip begins with some band members wearing Deadpool masks and others dressed as Wolverine. When Chad Kroeger's cover gets blown, he takes his off and begins talking to the camera.
“Oh hi there, I'm Chad Kroeger. We’re Nickelback, experts in navigating irrational hate in the face of tremendous success," the frontman says. "We have an important preemptive message for anyone thinking of criticizing the film Deadpool & Wolverine or Ryan Reynolds.”
He goes on to list the Deadpool franchise's accolades, which include grossing over $1.5 billion and taking home numerous awards. “As for Mr. Ryan Reynolds, just look at this photograph. That is a beautiful Canadian man right there,” Kroeger adds as the band's 2005 hit "Photograph" plays in the background.
The video follows the same format as the opening scene of 2018's Once Upon a Deadpool, where the superhero defends Nickelback after actor Fred Savage makes a comment about the films being licensed by Fox. "It's like if the Beatles were produced by Nickelback," he says. "It's music, but it sucks."
